Overview
softsaid (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a personalized daily affirmation app. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Data We Collect
- Account information: Email address and encrypted password when you create an account.
- Profile data: Your name, selected struggles, ranked values, and preferred tone — used to personalize your affirmations.
- Mood check-ins: Daily mood scores, energy levels, and context tags you submit.
- Journal entries: Text and voice journal content you create within the app.
- Voice recordings: Audio recordings of affirmations you choose to record.
- Usage data: Affirmation interactions (saves, skips) used to improve personalization.
How We Use Your Data
- To generate personalized AI affirmations tailored to your mood, values, and journal themes.
- To track your streak and provide weekly/monthly recaps.
- To process subscription payments via Apple In-App Purchase.
- To improve the app experience over time based on your feedback signals.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.
AI Processing
Your profile, mood, and journal data are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate personalized affirmations. This data is processed in real time and is not stored by Anthropic beyond the request. We store a context snapshot with each generated set of affirmations so you can see why each affirmation was chosen for you.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security — you can only access your own data. Voice recordings are stored in Supabase Storage. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.
Your Rights
- Access & export: You can view all your data within the app at any time.
- Deletion: You can delete your account from Settings. This permanently removes all your data including database records, voice recordings, and authentication credentials. Apple subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID and can be cancelled from your device's App Store account settings.
- Correction: You can update your profile information at any time from the Profile screen.
Third-Party Services
- Supabase: Authentication and database hosting.
- Anthropic (Claude): AI affirmation generation.
- Apple: In-App Purchase processing.
- PostHog: Anonymous product analytics (optional, can be disabled).
Children
softsaid is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app.
